You're probably aware that we're against fast fashion, or you may have heard the reasons for it before.
In a world drowning under the influence of fast fashion, we have been doing our part since 2016 and will continue to do so.
We envision a future where traditional craftsmanship is not just a relic of the past, but a cornerstone of fashion.
We want to break the cycle of waste and see a fashion industry defined as fair; a world where every individual in the supply chain is valued. Our founder Roksan, a true travel enthusiast, set out in 2016 to recycle the waste left behind by the fashion industry. In Turkey, we produce accessories using threads pulled from old sweaters using traditional weaving techniques.
Did you even know? This work allowed us to become Turkey's first "Remake Our World" ambassador. We are here to defend the rights of textile workers worldwide and to bring craftsmen and buyers to you in the right way, to give voice to their stories.
This mission gained momentum during a trip to Sri Lanka in 2019. We discovered forgotten hand-woven fabrics and spent three months learning from elderly women who are masters of the craft. This journey inspired some of our most important collections.
Since then, we have continued to meet creative women, each of whom teaches us weaving techniques and shares their stories through their work. Our collections are given new life and enriched with weavings, with waste fabrics created both in Sri Lanka and Istanbul. Every bag we produce is made with respect and love for nature and the people who help us bring our vision to life, contributing to a more sustainable world.
Every day, we strive to ensure that most of what we make comes from materials that have been given a second chance.
Our goal is to change fashion, piece by piece, to make it better for our planet and everyone on it.
As Greta Thunberg says, ' We all have a choice. We can create transformative actions that will protect the living conditions of future generations, or we can continue as we are and fail.'
